Our Story

Est 1983

In 1983, The Lord spoke to Pastors Steve and Becky Riggle to leave their pastoral assignment in Livermore, CA, and start a non-denominational new church in the Houston area.

Grace Church, then known as Grace Community Church, was launched with 12 people at Clear Lake Intermediate School in Houston, TX. Four weeks later, God provided Grace’s first building in Webster, TX.  98 people were part of the first Sunday in that location. As Grace continued to grow, they were able to move to a new location in League City. That location is now known as Grace Christian Academy.

In 2004, with a clear direction from God, we purchased 86 acres on I-45 to build our new home. While building, we occupied part of the building as we completed the main auditorium. Then finally in 2006, we were able to open our doors into our new auditorium. That year we also launched our Spanish speaking services and a new campus in the Woodlands.

In 2014, After serving Grace for 20 years in various roles, Garrett and Andrea Booth became the lead pastors of Grace Church Houston. Steve and Becky Riggle transitioned to the role of founding pastors along with becoming the lead pastors at Grace Woodlands and leading Grace International, a worldwide fellowship of churches and ministries.

Now, Grace is one of the biggest churches in the Houston area. We’ve been able to add new services to accommodate growth and reach more people throughout our area. Our Grace teams have also been able to serve regularly around the Houston area reaching tons of people through outreach and prayer. We’ve also been able to reach people all around the world by supporting 90 ministries in different nations.

Grace continues to serve God, serve our city, and make a difference around the globe.
